L’Union Coopérative Micronationale Laurentienne (UCML) possède une monnaie commune nommée « la Piastre ». Les États adhérant à cette monnaie commune forment la « Zone piastre » de l’Union. Les États membres de la Zone piastre établissent entre eux un taux de change avec la monnaie commune ainsi qu’avec les autres devises. Le taux de change de la Piastre est fixé à parité à un taux de 0,05 EUR pour 1 PLA, soit 1 EUR pour 20 PLA.

Depuis le 30 août 2024, la Principauté de Bérémagne n’adhère plus à la Zone piastre, à la suite de sa fusion avec la Principauté d’Aigues-Mortes. La Principauté de Bérémagne n’existe plus en tant qu’entité micronationale distincte.

À présent, le Neugraviat de Saint-Castin et le Grand-Duché de Misberie constituent les États membres pleinement adhérents à la Zone piastre. La Principauté de Sancratosie, pour sa part, est engagée dans un processus d’intégration progressive dans la Zone piastre. Bien qu’elle n’en soit pas encore membre à part entière, elle accepte néanmoins la Piastre comme mode de paiement.

Il est possible pour un État membre de l’UCML de ne pas adhérer à la Zone piastre, conformément aux dispositions applicables du cadre monétaire de l’Union.

La direction de la Zone piastre est assurée par le Collège exécutif, en collaboration avec les banques centrales des États adhérents. La surveillance de l’administration de la Zone est confiée au Vérificateur externe.
The Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union (LMCU) has a common currency called “the Piaster.” The states adhering to this common currency form the Union’s “Piaster Zone.” The member states of the Piaster Zone establish among themselves an exchange rate with the common currency as well as with other currencies. Since August 30, 2024, the Principality of Bérémagne no longer adheres to the Piaster Zone, following its merger with the Principality of Aigues-Mortes. The Principality of Bérémagne no longer exists as a distinct micronational entity.

At present, the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin and the Grand Duchy of Misberia constitute the member states fully adhering to the Piaster Zone. The Principality of Sancratosia, for its part, is engaged in a process of gradual integration into the Piaster Zone. Although it is not yet a full member, it nevertheless accepts the Piaster as a method of payment.

It is possible for an LMCU member state not to adhere to the Piaster Zone, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Union’s monetary framework.

The direction of the Piaster Zone is ensured by the Executive College, in collaboration with the central banks of the adhering states. Oversight of the administration of the Zone is entrusted to the External Auditor.
